angkor wat
What is Angkor Wat? How can you not know? It is only the largest religious building in the world! Located in Siem Reap, Angkor in Cambodia, this building is so significant to the country that it is actually the symbol for Cambodia and is borne on the Cambodia national flag! Originally it was built for the Hindu religion but it soon because a Buddist temple.

This is the famous Angkor Wat! Is it not beautiful to see? WHAT DO YOU MEAN "NO"??!!

Check that out: what place can be so cool that it appears on a national flag? Angkor Wat can!

Does this place look boring to you? Well, it probably is... WRONG!!! This place is huge and is filled of lots of artwork for the avid artist. With over 2000 different bas-reliefs lining the inside of the temple, you will be amazed to see how much work and creativity has gone into building for religion. The stories depicted by the bas-reliefs are also there to teach moral and religious values. Now how about that, it is like reading a comic in large scale!

Probably a story about war. Conclusion drawn from the sharp pointy arrows.

An apsara (nymph). They were said to be dancers to the gods and fallen heroes.
Ready for a little more excitement in the Angkor Wat? Why not take a trip to the upper floors of the Angkor Wat to watch girls dancing! However, these dances are not the scarily explicit types that most people will be ogling to see. These dances are religious and -just like the bas-reliefs - retell the stories of the Angkor kingdom in all its glory before it fell in the middle ages. So make it a point to check out Apsara Dancing if you get the chance.

Now where can I buy that impressive headdress?

If this place still has not gotten you geared up and ready to go take a look, maybe these pictures may change your mind!

Check out how many people actually go there!

Like a doorway to a mystical place...

What are you looking at?

Angkor Wat is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the world. :)

Looks great, doesn't it? So pack your bags and get ready to learn to live with an open heart at Cambodia's Angkor Wat!
